Welcome to adamsonmedia.com, home of sports and humor. My 30-year newspaper career is now safely in my rear-view mirror, so I write what I want, when I want.
When the mood strikes, I’ll have a humor column, “Funny Business,” which takes a not-so-serious look at whatever is on my mind. The response from you has been positive so far, and hopefully that streak will continue.
I will also have a sports column titled “History and More,” which will run periodically.
No sports topic is off limits, but I like to take deep dives into sports history, especially when it comes to long forgotten teams and leagues. Then again, I’m also fond of “off-the-wall” sports, and they have a home here, too.
I’m a huge fan of the Canadian Football League and have always had an affinity for upstart leagues. I’ve given non-NFL pro football its own landing spot called “Alternative Football.”
I’ve loved soccer ever since watching the old “Soccer Made In Germany” show on PBS as a kid. Although there are myriad sites covering it, I’ll occasionally share my thoughts thanks to a section known as “Sidewinder Insider.”
And with the New Orleans Pelicans’ G League affliate in Birmingham, I’ll be devoting more content to basketball. It can be found in the cleverly titled section called “Basketball.”
Coming soon is “Fiction Factor,” where I’ll offer up short stories, flash fiction and essays.
I hope this will be a fun and informative website, one that can appeal to sports fans and non-sports fans alike.
Anyway, thanks for stopping in and checking things out. You’re welcome back any time.
Oh, and if you prefer longer reads, I wrote a book called “The Home Team: My Bromance With Off-Brand Football.” It’s football history with a dash of humor, and you can order it right from this site.
