Welcome to adamsonmedia.com, home of sports and humor. After a 30-year newspaper career, I decided to step away from the daily grind to grind out content of my own choosing.
When the mood strikes, I’ll have a humor column, “Brain Farce,” which takes a not-so-serious look at whatever is on my mind. The response from you has been positive so far, and hopefully that streak will continue.
I will also have a sports column titled “Out Of Left Field,” which will run periodically.
In “Out Of Left Field,” no sports topic is off limits, but since I’m Alabama-born and Alabama-raised, you can rest assured football will have a strong presence in my commentary and that commentary will be more voluminous in the fall.
Speaking of the gridiron, I’m a huge fan of the Canadian Football League and have always had an affinity for upstart leagues. I’ve given non-NFL pro football its own landing spot called “Alternative Football.”
Soccer is my primary sports passion, and I’ve loved it ever since watching the old “Soccer Made In Germany” show on PBS as a kid. Although there are myriad sites covering it, I’ll occasionally share my thoughts thanks to a section known as “Sidewinder Insider.”
I hope this will be a fun and informative website, one that can appeal to sports fans and non-sports fans alike.
Anyway, thanks for stopping in and checking things out.
You’re welcome back any time.
Oh, and if you prefer longer reads, I have a book out: “The Home Team: My Bromance With Off-Brand Football.” It’s football history with a dash of humor and you can get it via Burnaby Books or Amazon. And if podcasting is your thing, give https://from-the-55-yard-line.captivate.fm/ a listen.
